Cost is $900/student for academic day for 1st-8th grades, $950 for those in 9th-12th grades for biology/science lab fees. Cost is $950/student for elective day for 1st-12th. There is also a nonrefundable registration fee of $50 per child per day.

Note on required/optional books: I have added approximate (~) pricing and a link for required and optional books.  Buying a "used" copy of the book is fine and can save you money in most cases.  Prior to purchase, please confirm the "condition" of the book as well as the correct "edition", both are important!

In science, we will spend half of the year on Earth and then fly out to space for the

Journey High School

9th-12th grade At this time, we are combining our high schoolers into 2 grades/classes,

with a choice of either biology or chemistry for science. Our high school

demographics accommodate either of these science classes currently.

If you have questions regarding your high school student and what they

need for graduation, please contact us and we can set up a meeting to

discuss meeting your high schooler's academic requirements.

High School students will learn about world history and cultures, study

biology or chemistry from a Christian perspective, engage in bible/character

studies, enjoy gym, and learn writing and grammar.  Our goal is to prepare

your student for life after high school, whether that involves attending

college, trade school, or pursuing employment.

Tuition for academic classes for 9th-12th grades are $950/child for the

school year, plus a $50 nonrefundable registration fee per child.

Journey High School in 2023/2024 will have a choice of biology or chemistry

Biology:  This college-prep biology course will help students understand

the vocabulary of biology and gain a strong understanding of the scientific

method. Modules cover atoms, chemical structures, ecosystems, biomes,

ecological communities, cell structure/function, cellular energy, DNA,

proteins, genetics, viruses, fungi, and the fascinating worlds of plants

and animals.

Prerequisites: None

Required books/materials:  Jay Wile’s “Exploring Creation with Biology”, 2nd editionAnswer Key/Tests (~$25, 2005), check condition - available used locally, on ebay, homeschool building, or resale groups on Facebook

Chemistry:  "Friendly Chemistry" provides a comprehensive coverage of chemistry including classification of matter, atomic structure, spectroscopy, chemical bonding, molecular geometry, physical change, chemical change, stoichiometry, solutions, gases, molarity and more.  This is presented in a format that is hands-on and interactive using a curriculum that is excellent and comprehensive, yet less intense with regards to the mathematical content.  In addition, we will also accommodate students that want "more intense' chemistry math-wise.  Either situation will be entirely adequate and excellent for solidifying your student's Chemistry science requirement.
